Few creatures command the imagination of a tabletop table quite like a Pegasus in full flight. MZ4250's MM2025 sculpt captures the winged horse mid-gallop, all four legs reaching forward in a powerful, weightless canter, wings flung wide in a dramatic arc of layered feathers. The musculature of the body is rendered with real care — the swell of the chest, the flowing mane, the flick of the tail — while the wings themselves are the centrepiece: broad primary flight feathers fanning out to razor-tipped quills, with dense overlapping covert feathers scaling back towards the shoulder. This is a creature caught in the moment between earth and sky.
As a miniature, it reads beautifully from across the table — the spread of the wings gives it genuine presence on the board, and the dynamic pose means it demands attention whether you're placing it in an encounter or setting it on a display shelf. The sculpt is supplied as a multipart kit, allowing for cleaner detail on the wing joints and a more satisfying painting experience when working into the feathering. Paint it white with a silver sheen for a celestial mount, dapple it grey for a wild creature of the mountain winds, or go full fantasy with an otherworldly coat.
Suited for adventurers who:
- Need a mount for a paladin, ranger, or celestial-touched character
- Are building Feywild, celestial, or high-fantasy encounters with a centrepiece creature
- Want a display piece that showcases feather-painting techniques and fine detail work
- Are running a scenario involving a Pegasus eyrie, a stolen divine mount, or a celestial guardian
Encounter Hook
The knights of a fallen mountain kingdom once kept a Pegasus herd as their aerial cavalry — sacred animals, bound to riders by oath. Now the kingdom is ash, the riders are ghosts, and the herd has scattered to the high peaks. When the party discovers an injured Pegasus tangled in a poacher's snare above the treeline, they face a choice: free a magnificent creature that doesn't trust them, or leave it for the poachers to collect. What they don't yet know is that this Pegasus still wears the spectral brand of its lost rider — and that rider's spirit is watching from the ridgeline.
