Peg Leg Pete is a Tortle pirate unlike any you've encountered before. Broad-shouldered and barnacled with hard-won experience, he strides into the room on a gnarled wooden peg leg, a double-headed axe slung forward in a grip that says he's used it recently. His tricorn hat sits at a weathered angle above a reptilian face that's seen too many sunrises over open water, and his shell-backed frame is strapped with adventuring gear — rope, pouches, and the accumulated kit of a life lived at sea. The sculpt from Great Grimoire captures every scute of his scaled hide and every nick in that brutal axe head. Whether you're running a nautical campaign, a coastal city arc, or just need a Tortle who clearly has a story, Pete brings that lived-in character straight to the table.
Three thematic base options are available: a coral reef seabed scene, a sandy beach scattered with a starfish, skull, and shells, or a wet shoreline base with a sunken anchor and sea anemones. Each is its own little vignette and pairs beautifully with Pete's seafaring aesthetic. The base is provided separately and attaches easily. Please include a note with your order specifying which base you'd like — coral reef, beach with skull, or anchor scene.
Well suited for adventurers who:
- Need a Tortle player character with genuine maritime presence
- Want a memorable named NPC — a pirate captain, rival, or unlikely ally
- Are running a nautical or coastal campaign and want flavourful encounters
- Collect character-driven sculpts that tell a story before they're even painted
Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at a smugglers' dock at low tide to find Pete sitting on a crate, sharpening his axe and watching the harbour master's office. He doesn't look up when they approach. "You the ones after the Obsidian Compass?" he rasps. "Because the last three crews who came asking didn't make it past the second reef. I watched all of 'em sink." He finally looks up. "So. What makes you lot different?"
