Owlbear Elder by Witchsong Miniatures
Description
Where the ancient wood grows thick and the runes on the stones are older than any kingdom, something nests — and it has been here far longer than you.
- ✔ Display-scale miniature — larger than standard 32mm gaming scale
- ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Equally suited to display shelves and the gaming table
The Owlbear Elder is no ordinary beast. Part raptor, part something older and stranger, this creature carries the weight of centuries in its feathered bulk. Broad antlers crown its bowed head, wide-spread wings frame its crouching silhouette, and beneath those taloned feet lies a nest of eggs — a detail that transforms a simple monster encounter into something with stakes. This is not a wandering predator. This is a guardian, a territorial ancient, and it does not intend to let you leave.
Sculpted with extraordinary feather-by-feather detail, the Elder hunches forward in a posture of coiled aggression, talons gripping the rocky base, wings half-spread as though mid-threat display. The scenic base includes the nest and scattered bones, giving this miniature a sense of place that works brilliantly on a gaming table or a display shelf. Sized larger than standard 32mm scale — the base measures 80mm — this is a true large-creature presence, scaled by the artist to serve as a genuine boss encounter piece.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Need a commanding Feywild boss or ancient forest guardian for a D&D or TTRPG campaign
- Want a large-scale centrepiece miniature for display collecting or painting projects
- Are building encounters around territorial creatures, nesting beasts, or ancient fey protectors
- Enjoy painting deeply textured feather and fur detail across a substantial sculpt
Encounter Hook:
The party was warned not to disturb the standing stones north of the village — but the missing child's trail leads directly through them. As they approach the ring of ancient runes, a low, resonant shriek rolls through the trees, and between the moss-covered pillars, two amber eyes lock onto them from above a half-spread canopy of dark wings. Something is nesting here. Something that has been here since before the village existed.
This miniature is supplied ready for priming and painting, or can be used straight from the box as an unpainted grey resin piece — both work brilliantly at the table. The base is supplied detached and can be fixed with a small amount of model glue. Due to the nature of the printing process, minor imperfections or support marks may occasionally be present; these are easily tidied up before painting. The model is fully cured on dispatch. Note: this sculpt is sized at approximately 80mm base — larger than standard — to reflect its role as a boss-scale creature. If you'd like a different scale, get in touch and we'll see what we can do.
