Description

Something enormous and feathered has been sleeping atop the old ruins — and it has just opened one enormous, amber eye.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Owlbear is one of those creatures that needs no introduction at any table — half raptor, half apex predator, entirely unwilling to negotiate. This sculpt from Epic Miniatures captures the beast mid-crouch, its powerful talons gripping what appears to be a large carved stone disc covered in runic or decorative engravings — perhaps a relic it has claimed as its own, or simply the remnants of something it has thoroughly destroyed. Wings half-spread and beak lowered in a posture of focused aggression, this is not a creature that has spotted prey and panicked. It is a creature that knows it has already won.

The feather and scale detail across the body is layered beautifully, giving painters a wealth of texture to work into — from the ruffled plumage around the neck and face to the tight, overlapping scales on the legs and talons. The carved stone base integrates into the composition rather than simply supporting it, making this a miniature that will read well both mid-encounter and on a display shelf between sessions. Notably large for a 32mm-scale product, this is rated as a Large creature, appropriately sized to loom over your adventuring party.

Particularly well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Need a large-scale creature encounter for a forest, dungeon, or ruin-based session
  • Want a show-stopping centrepiece mini for their collection or display shelf
  • Are running encounters where the monster has a territorial, guardian quality
  • Enjoy ambitious painting projects with rich layered texture across the whole sculpt
  • Are using the Owlbear as a companion, monster, or plot device in their campaign

Encounter Hook: The party has been sent to recover a stolen cartographer's seal — a disc engraved with the sigil of the Mapmaker's Guild. They find it. Unfortunately, a very large, very territorial Owlbear found it first, and has been roosting atop it in the ruins of the old waystation for three days. It is not going to hand it over politely.
