Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to recover a merchant's lost wagon — last seen on the High Pass road three days ago. They find it overturned and half-buried in leaf litter, one wheel still spinning. Then they spot the claw marks on the oak trees, each one eight feet off the ground, and realise the den entrance is no more than thirty feet away. Two pairs of disc-like eyes blink at them from the dark. A third, much larger pair opens slowly behind the cubs.
