Owlbear 03 by Yasashii Kyojin Studios
Description
It doesn't look dangerous at first — just a great feathered mass, coiled low to the ground, head tucked and claws splayed wide. Then it lifts its beak.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
This is the third sculpt in our Owlbear range from Yasashii Kyojin Studio, and it depicts the creature in a crouched, resting pose — head lowered, body hunched, every feather rendered in extraordinary layered detail. The sheer density of the sculpt is remarkable; overlapping plumage covers the beast from nape to haunch, while the thick, taloned paws press flat against the ground. At 30mm in height, it carries genuine mass and presence on the tabletop.
Whether you're using it as a sleeping guardian, a creature mid-pounce before it springs, or the centrepiece of a forest lair encounter, this pose reads differently to the more aggressive stances you'll find in the rest of the range. It rewards a patient DM — and it rewards a painter even more, with all those feather layers offering exceptional depth for drybrushing and washes.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run wilderness, forest, or cave encounters in D&D 5e or other TTRPGs
- Want a varied owlbear presence — this pose contrasts beautifully with upright or charging sculpts
- Enjoy painting creatures with rich surface texture and layered natural detail
- Collect fantasy beast miniatures for display as well as the gaming table
Encounter Hook:
The rangers' trail leads into a shallow cave where a half-eaten elk suggests something large made its home here recently. The party enters to find a massive feathered shape curled against the far wall, breathing slowly — and three downy owlbear chicks nestled beneath its wings.
Scaled to 30mm height. Available with or without a plain black base — the base is supplied unattached and can be fixed with a drop of glue. Supplied unprimed and unpainted, ready for your brushwork or used as-is straight from the box.
