Part bird of prey, part armoured warrior, the Owl Harpy is a creature that defies easy categorisation — and that's precisely what makes her so compelling to paint and play. Her broad, feathered wings are swept back and folded with natural weight, framing a lithe humanoid torso clad in fitted plate armour etched with geometric detailing. A horned helmet with a beak-like visor masks her features completely, lending her the inscrutable stillness of a hunting owl. Below the waist, the avian nature takes full hold: articulated raptor legs end in three enormous forward-reaching talons that grip a sculpted rocky outcrop with predatory confidence.
The armour across her shoulders, chest, and thighs is covered in overlapping scale-like plates that echo the layered feathers of her wings — a design choice that rewards careful layering and contrast when painting. The base is an organic, textured chunk of stone and earth that anchors the composition without overshadowing the sculpt itself. Two base options are available: a plain base for those who prefer to mount on custom scenic work, or a decorative base for those who want the full composition straight from the box.
As a large-sized miniature, she has real physical presence on the table — the kind that makes players sit up a little straighter when you place her down.
- Adventurers who want a memorable aerial ambush predator that's distinctly different from a standard harpy
- DMs building wilderness encounters with a tactical, armoured foe who can hold her own in melee
- Painters drawn to the challenge of blending natural feather textures with sleek, hard-edged armour surfaces
- Collectors seeking a dynamic display piece that reads as both creature and warrior
Encounter Hook: The party has been tracking poachers through the highland forest for two days when they find the poachers — or rather, what's left of them. Perched atop the tallest pine at the clearing's edge, the Owl Harpy watches the adventurers assess the wreckage. She does not flee. She has already decided whether they are prey.
