From the hollow of an ancient oak, two amber eyes open in the dark — patient, silent, and watching everything.

Owls in the world of tabletop RPGs are far more than background dressing. They perch on the shoulders of arcane scholars, serve as familiars bound to Wizards and Warlocks, and haunt the canopies of enchanted forests where Druids walk. This sculpt from Mia Kay M3DM captures two casual owl poses — one alert and upright on a gnarled branch, the other settled and drowsy — both rendered with extraordinary feather detail and a quiet, watchful energy that rewards close inspection on the painting table.

Whether you're representing a Wizard's familiar mid-rest, populating a woodland encounter with ambient wildlife, or placing a sentinel of the Feywild on your display shelf, these two poses give you genuine flexibility. The branch perch and rounded snow base add immediate environmental context straight out of the box — no conversion work needed.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Play or DM with a Wizard, Warlock, or Ranger who keeps a feathered familiar
  • Want atmospheric wildlife pieces for forest, tundra, or Feywild encounters
  • Are building a display collection of D&D beasts and creature companions
  • Enjoy painting fine feather texture as a focused painting project

Encounter Hook:
The village elder warned the party that the old mill was watched — that two owls always sat on its eaves at dusk, and that anyone who harmed them never made it back to the road. Tonight, as the adventurers approach through the snow, both birds are already staring directly at them.

Details

This listing includes two owl sculpts (two separate poses). Both are scaled to 32mm. The sculpt on the branch base comes as a single attached piece; the second pose includes a detached plain base that attaches simply with a small amount of glue. Both arrive with supports removed and fully cured, ready for priming and painting — or use them straight from the box if you prefer.
