In the deepest wing of the Arcane Repository, where the candles never gutter and the scrolls outnumber the stars, something feathered and ancient keeps watch over secrets not meant for mortal eyes.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Owl Archivist is a magnificent study in scholarly authority — part sage, part predator, entirely in command. Perched atop a teetering mountain of leather-bound tomes and rolled scrolls, this owlfolk scholar clutches an ornate staff topped with an open book, one taloned hand extended as though offering knowledge or perhaps demanding tribute. A great feathered cloak sweeps around broad shoulders, and a horned owl's face regards you with the patient, unblinking intelligence of something that has read everything and forgotten nothing. This is not a creature you bargain with lightly.

For Dungeon Masters, the Owl Archivist works brilliantly as a powerful neutral NPC — the keeper of forbidden lore, an unlikely quest-giver, or the sole being who knows the ritual your party desperately needs. For players, the sculpt lends itself equally well to a Wizard, Sage, or Druid of distinctive bearing. The detail throughout the sculpt — from the scaled talons gripping the book-pile base to the curling ironwork of the staff — makes this a rewarding piece to paint and a striking addition to any display shelf.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a memorable, lore-rich NPC to anchor a library, archive, or wizard's tower encounter
  • Are playing or DMing with an owlfolk Wizard, Sage background character, or scholarly spellcaster
  • Want a display centrepiece that rewards close attention to detail during painting
  • Are building encounters around ancient knowledge, forbidden texts, or arcane institutions

Encounter Hook:
The party has tracked a missing spellbook to the Vault of Murmuring Pages — only to find the Archivist already waiting for them, clawed hands folded over the very tome they seek. He does not deny having it. He simply asks what they are willing to give in exchange, and the list of acceptable currencies is not what any of them expected.

Details

Printed at 32mm scale. The base visible in the render — a dramatic pile of books and scrolls — is part of the sculpt itself. The mini arrives unprimed and unpainted, ready for your brushwork or equally striking straight from the box as a display piece. As with all our prints, supports are carefully removed and each piece is fully cured before dispatch. Minor surface marks from the printing process can occur and are easily remedied with light sanding.

The cats cannot open boxes, operate equipment, or assist in any practical way. Their morale bonus is unmatched.

Pairs well with player character minis — build out your forest encounters with more from Great Grimoire.
