Description

Even the bravest adventurers must answer nature's call — and in every hamlet, frontier settlement, and rough-and-tumble market town, the outhouse stands waiting, door ajar, crescent moon cut into the planks.

  • ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
  • ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
  • ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama

This timber outhouse scatter piece is a beautifully observed slice of everyday life in a fantasy settlement. The sculpt captures every detail you'd expect: vertical plank boarding along all four sides, a shallow lean-to roof edged with stone or tile detailing, a solid door fitted with two square strap hinges, a simple wooden latch handle, and — of course — the traditional crescent moon cutout that marks this humble structure for what it is. It's the kind of environmental detail that makes a game table feel lived-in and real.

Whether it's tucked behind the local tavern, propped at the edge of a frontier homestead, or standing suspiciously alone in the middle of a dungeon (someone built a dungeon around an outhouse — stranger things have happened), this piece adds texture and life to any scene. It's also the kind of prop that invites roleplay: what's hidden inside? What note is pinned to the door? Is the rogue using it as a dead-drop?

Suited to adventurers who:

  • Run settlement, town, or wilderness encounter maps and want grounded, believable scatter terrain
  • Love environmental storytelling and the small details that make a world feel inhabited
  • Are building a homestead, frontier village, or rural encounter board
  • Want a characterful piece that doubles as a painting project — wood grain and weathering effects will look excellent here

Encounter Hook: The party has been tailing a suspected Zhentarim courier through a busy market town. The courier ducks behind the tanner's yard and vanishes — but a trail of muddy boots leads to the outhouse at the far end of the alley. The door is latched from the inside. No sound within. No movement. The rogue steps forward, picks the latch, and swings the door open to reveal... a trapdoor, freshly broken away from its hinges, leading down into the sewers below.
