This orc bannerman is built for the front lines of a warband — a broad-shouldered, fur-mantled warrior who carries his war-standard like a declaration of war. The banner pole is crowned with a jagged crosspiece and spiked blade tip, with a tattered cloth banner hanging from a curved horn bar. He carries it across his body as though it weighs nothing, because to him, it likely does. In his other hand he grips a long barbed spear, its tip wickedly pointed, held out at an angle that makes his intent perfectly clear.
His armour is a patchwork of bone, hide, and brutally functional plate, with a skull shoulder guard and layered fur across the chest. His hair erupts in a wild mane, his beard full and unkempt, and his expression sits somewhere between focused menace and outright contempt. Bony claws curl around his weapon grips — this is not a warrior who armours his hands because he does not need to. Decorative and plain base options are available, giving you the flexibility to integrate him into your existing basing scheme or let the sculpt speak for itself.
Well suited to adventurers who:
- Are building out an orc warband and need a distinct commanding presence on the field
- Want a characterful NPC warlord herald or front-line soldier for urban or wilderness encounters
- Are painting a display piece that rewards attention to fur, bone, and layered armour textures
- Need a standard-bearer to mark an orc general's position on the battlefield
Encounter Hook
The party crests the hill to find the valley below swarming with orcish soldiers — and at the vanguard, this bannerman drives the war-standard into the earth and lets out a guttural roar. Until that banner falls, the horde fights with fearless ferocity. The question is whether the party can carve through the warband fast enough to reach him.
