Every graveyard encounter, vampire lair, and undead-infested crypt deserves terrain that tells a story before a single die is rolled. This open coffin scatter piece from Mia Kay M3DM does exactly that. Rendered with a traditional plank-board construction, side carry handles, and a raised cross embossed on the lid, it's the kind of scenery detail that makes players lean in and lower their voices. The lid sits separately from the base, meaning you can display it open, closed, or propped ajar — whatever best suits the moment.
Whether it's the resting place of a vampire lord, a clue in a murder mystery scenario, or simply a grim piece of dressing for your town's chapel of rest, this coffin rewards a thoughtful paint job. A dry-brush of dark wood tones, a wash of grime, and a pop of colour on the cross hardware will bring it to life — or rather, to a very convincing undeath.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Are building graveyard, crypt, or gothic horror battle maps
- Want immersive scatter terrain for vampire or undead encounters
- Need a centrepiece prop for mystery or investigation scenarios
- Enjoy painting and detailing atmospheric scene pieces for display
Encounter Hook:
The village priest swears the coffin in the chapel was sealed at sundown. Now it's past midnight, the lid is open, and something has scratched three words into the silk lining from the inside: I am awake.
Scaled to 32mm. The coffin base and lid are printed as separate pieces, allowing flexible display options — lay the lid flat beside the open body, prop it at an angle, or glue it shut for a sealed version. Ready for priming and painting straight out of the box. Minor surface marks from support removal may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up with a hobby file.
