This is the second pose in our Oni Onslaughter range, and where the first crouches and lunges, this one stands tall — cocksure, unhurried, a horned brute who knows the fight is already won. His enormous nodachi rests casually across his shoulders, ring-tipped pommel to one side and the wide, notched blade to the other. He wears layered shoulder armour etched with intricate scale-work, a sash-wrapped torso, and frayed robes over wrapped leggings bound at the ankle with rope. His face is a mask of gleeful malice — wide-mouthed, horned, and deeply unpleasant to meet in a narrow pass. The sculpted rubble base puts him mid-stride across broken stone, claws curling at his feet.
In D&D 5e terms, oni are shapeshifting giants with innate spellcasting, regeneration, and a fondness for devouring the unwary — this sculpt captures that swagger of a creature that has never once considered it might lose. He works equally well as a wandering monster, a warlord's enforcer, or the centrepiece of an oriental-inflected campaign arc. Equally at home on a display shelf as on the battle map.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a commanding oni boss or lieutenant for their D&D 5e or TTRPG encounter
- Are running a campaign with East Asian-inspired lore, spirit folklore, or giant-kind threats
- Want a second pose to pair with Oni Onslaughter 01 for a varied warband
- Collect and paint high-detail monster miniatures for display as well as play
Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking a string of razed farmsteads along the mountain road — no survivors, no looting, just destruction for its own sake. At the crest of the pass, wreathed in early morning fog, he is waiting for them. Nodachi across his shoulders, grinning. He already knows their names.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and decorative base are separate pieces, designed to be attached with super glue — the base stonework is sculpted to complement the model's pose. Printed to a high level of detail; supports are removed before dispatch, though minor marks from the printing process are possible and can be cleaned up with a hobby file or blade prior to priming.
