Description

He did not return from death diminished — he returned wearing a crown of thorns, a ruinous blade dragging at his side, and the patience of a king who has waited centuries for his revenge.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Once Dead King is a centrepiece villain sculpted with extraordinary presence. His skeletal visage peers from beneath a spiked crown, draped robes tattered at the hem like the remnants of a dynasty long rotted. One clawed hand reaches forward as though commanding the dead to rise, while the other grips a massive barbed greatsword driven into the earth beside him — a weapon that looks less like a tool of war and more like a monument to ruin. Every surface of his armour is encrusted with thorns and bone-spurs, giving the impression of a being that has fused with death itself rather than merely succumbing to it.

Whether he is the Lich-King of a shattered empire, the cursed monarch of a long-dead realm, or the final boss of a necromancy-heavy campaign arc, the Once Dead King commands the table the moment he hits the battlefield. He is equally at home on a painted display shelf as he is anchoring a climactic encounter — the level of sculpt detail rewards both the gaming table and the painter's brush.

A rewarding choice for adventurers who:

  • Need a commanding BBEG or undead monarch for a campaign's final act
  • Are building a Ravenloft, Shadowfell, or necromancer-themed adventure
  • Want a large display-scale centrepiece for their painted collection
  • Are tackling an ambitious painting project with rich surface detail to work with

Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the throne room of the Ashen Citadel to find the throne already occupied. The Once Dead King does not stand to greet them. He simply raises one clawed hand, and the doors behind the party seal shut with a sound like a coffin lid closing. "You are the seventh group," he says, without turning his head. "None of the others left either."

This miniature is produced at a larger-than-standard display scale — the base measures 55mm, making it suitably imposing as a boss character on the tabletop. The base is supplied detached for ease of painting and can be affixed with a small amount of hobby glue. The model arrives ready to prime and paint, or can be used straight away in its natural grey state.
