The Once Dead King is a large-format display bust depicting an undead monarch at the height of his terrible majesty. His sunken, corpse-like face is framed by a jagged bone crown, its spires rising like shards of a shattered throne. A heavy fur-lined cloak sweeps dramatically over one shoulder, tattered at the edges — the remnants of royal grandeur now given over entirely to rot and dominion. Layered plate armour covers his torso, adorned with barbed spikes and angular relief work that speaks to a kingdom where beauty and cruelty were always the same thing.

This bust is sculpted for painters first — the depth of the cloak's folds, the texture of necrotic skin pulled tight over angular bone, and the intricate layering of the armour all reward careful brushwork. Whether you're practising Non-Metallic Metal on the crown, blending cold pallor into the flesh, or experimenting with OSL from some unseen source of death-magic, this sculpt gives you the surface area to do it properly.
