This is the second sculpt in Novaminis' Ogre Prisoner series, and where the first variant might suggest reluctant captivity, this one tells a different story entirely. The ogre lunges forward mid-stride, wrists bound by a heavy chain that loops across its torso, iron shackles clamped around one ankle. Its braided topknot trails behind it as it surges forward, jaw wide open in a snarl that shows every tooth. The bulk of the creature — barrel-chested, thick-limbed, dressed only in rough hide trousers laced at the side — is captured with excellent anatomical weight. This thing is not shuffling. It is about to do something catastrophic.

The pose carries real kinetic energy: one leg raised mid-step, arms pulling against the chain as if testing it — or preparing to use it as a weapon. The expression seals it. This is not a broken creature. This is a creature that has been waiting for its moment. Painters will find exceptional texture work across the musculature, the hide trousers, and the chunky iron restraints, with the braided hair offering a satisfying secondary detail piece.

As the second variation in this range, Ogre Prisoner 02 cuts a more aggressive silhouette than its counterpart — where 02 the ogre is clearly on the move, forward-leaning and dangerous. If you are running the full range, the contrast between the two sculpts makes for a compelling pair at the table or on the shelf.

  • Dungeon Masters running a captive monster encounter where the creature breaks loose mid-negotiation
  • Adventurers who want a large creature with narrative history baked into the sculpt
  • Painters drawn to expressive faces, dynamic muscle anatomy, and ironwork detailing
  • Anyone building out a dungeon scene, prison encounter, or gladiatorial arena setup

Encounter Hook: The party has been hired to escort a prisoner transfer — an ogre bound for a noble's private menagerie. Three miles from the city gates, the wagon wheel shatters on a root. In the confusion, the ogre yanks its ankle chain free from the axle mount, fixes the party with a very specific look, and takes one very deliberate step forward.
