Ogre Mortar Specialist Bust by Witchsong Miniatures
Description
When the enemy hears the distant boom of a mortar and the cackling of a goblin spotter, they know the artillery crew has arrived — and there's nowhere left to run.
- ✔ Large-scale display bust — significantly bigger than standard 32mm
- ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
- ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions
This bust captures an ogre artillery specialist mid-roar, massive arms wrapped around the barrel of a cannon with the kind of confidence that only comes from having levelled a city wall or two. Perched on his shoulder, a horned goblin spotter gestures wildly — either directing fire or cheering on the carnage, it's genuinely difficult to tell. The ogre's battered helmet, heavily muscled torso, thick leather strapping, and wide-open snarl all speak to a creature that has found its true calling on the battlefield. The detail across the skin texture, armour rivets, and the goblin's expressive face makes this a deeply rewarding piece to paint.
As a display bust, this piece is built for showcasing painting technique and character rather than sitting on a hex grid. The weathered base and dramatic upward angle make it a natural centrepiece on any shelf — but it can just as easily serve as visual inspiration for a memorable villain, mercenary boss, or siege-warfare NPC in your campaign.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Want a character-rich display bust with genuine personality
- Are painters looking for a project with expressive faces, varied textures, and strong silhouette
- Need a siege-warfare villain or artillery commander NPC for their next campaign arc
- Collect fantasy busts and want something that commands attention on a display shelf
Encounter Hook:
The party's advance on the goblin-held fort stalls when a single ogre emerges from the smoke, mortar balanced across one arm, while the goblin perched on his shoulder peers through a cracked spyglass and starts calling out coordinates. They have exactly one round before the next volley lands.
Details
This is a display bust, scaled and sculpted for painting projects and shelf display rather than standard tabletop play. It arrives unpainted and unassembled if required, printed to the high detail standards this sculpt demands. Minor surface marks from support removal may occasionally occur and can be addressed during prep — each piece is quality checked before dispatch.
