The Ogre Cenomorph is what happens when illithid ambition outpaces restraint. Rather than fully ceremorphose a host, the mind flayer colony has twisted this ogre at a cellular level — preserving the creature's enormous physical power while grafting their own aberrant biology onto it. The result is a brute that obeys without question, feels no fear, and is very difficult to put down. With a skull-crowned club in one fist and the capacity to crack stone with the other, this thing doesn't need psychic gifts to be terrifying.
Three sculpts are available in this range, each capturing a different pose and level of threat: the unarmed confrontational stance, the mid-swing club attack, and the forward-leaning aggressive charge. All three are rendered by Monster Atlas with exceptional surface texture — the rippling muscle, warty hide, bone-laced wrappings, and writhing facial tendrils carry through at 32mm scale with real clarity. Whether you're statting it as an ogrillon variant, a corrupted giant, or something entirely homebrew, this sculpt earns its place on the table.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run Underdark campaigns involving mind flayer colonies and their thralls
- Need a large-scale aberration that reads as dangerous at a glance
- Want a Boss Monster with genuine visual menace for a climactic encounter
- Collect creature minis that reward close-up painting detail
Encounter Hook:
The party has tracked a series of disappearances to a remote mountain pass — only to find the shepherd's entire flock slaughtered in a perfect circle, and at the centre, enormous footprints leading north. When they follow the trail to a collapsed mine entrance, something immense shifts in the darkness below, and a sound rises that is equal parts bellow and wet, rhythmic pulse — something that used to be an ogre has been waiting here for days, guarding a passage the party was never meant to find.
