Description

She smiled at the children of the village, but no one could quite explain why they never looked directly at her face.

  • ✔ Display-scale miniature — larger than standard 32mm gaming scale
  • ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Equally suited to display shelves and the gaming table

The Nursemaid is one of those miniatures that stops conversation at the table. Her silhouette reads as almost ordinary — a long flowing dress, layered bodice, cascading hair — until your eye reaches her face, or rather the writhing mass of tentacles where a face should be. One hand cradles a sinister effigy, a small puppet-like figure whose presence raises more questions than it answers; the other arm hangs loose, fingers pointed downward with unsettling purpose. This is a creature that has walked among people for a very long time, and knows exactly how to look almost human.

Whether she serves an Elder Evil, leads a cult of the Outer Dark, or simply is the dark thing your players have been warned about in hushed whispers, the Nursemaid carries genuine menace in every carved detail — from the runes etched into her base to the uncanny stillness of her pose. She works equally well as the campaign's central villain or as a deeply unsettling set piece for a one-shot your players won't soon forget.

Well suited for adventurers who:

  • Need a BBEG with real presence at the table
  • Are running a cosmic horror, Far Realm, or cult-themed campaign arc
  • Want a named NPC who unnerves players before combat even begins
  • Are looking for a large-scale display piece to paint and showcase

Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to find a missing child in a coastal town. Every witness describes the same woman — kind, softly spoken, carrying a cloth doll. When the players finally corner her in the old lighthouse, she turns slowly towards them, and they realise with dawning horror that the doll in her hand is moving on its own — and has been for some time.

This miniature is printed at display scale — the base measures 80mm, making her considerably larger than a standard 32mm character piece. She is designed at this scale by the artist to serve as a boss-level figure. If you would like a different scale, please get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate you. The base is supplied detached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. She arrives ready for priming and painting, or can be used straight from the box as an unpainted grey miniature for gaming.
