Novice Lich Spell by Epic Miniatures
Description
The ritual is not yet complete, but the hunger in those hollow eyes tells you the novice lich has already crossed a threshold from which there is no return.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
This gaunt, hunched figure cuts a chilling silhouette — robed in tattered wrappings that billow and trail behind it, adorned with layered necklaces and arcane belt-plate etched with geometric sigils. Both arms are raised mid-incantation, grasping or conjuring ethereal tendrils of magical energy that coil upward from each hand, giving the mini a dynamic, active energy entirely at odds with its withered, undead frame.
The face is sunken and corrupted — a lich not yet fully ascended but already well past the point of mercy. Lank, braided hair drapes behind the skull-like head, lending it a ghostly quality. The sculpt rewards careful painting: the layered fabric folds, the geometric beltwork, and the magical energy tendrils each offer distinct textures to work with, whether you favour a desaturated undead palette or want to push the spell effects with vibrant OSL work.
This is variation #6717 from Epic Miniatures' range — a novice lich in full spellcasting pose, equally well-suited as a recurring villain climbing towards lichdom, an NPC archmage who made one too many bargains, or a dramatic centrepiece encounter for a dungeon crawl.
A natural choice for adventurers who:
- Need a lich-in-progress as a campaign villain or mid-tier boss
- Want an undead spellcaster with genuine visual presence on the table
- Are running Ravenloft, Shadowfell, or any necrotic-themed arc
- Enjoy a technically rewarding paint project with layered textures and spell effects
- Are building out an undead faction or necromancer's court
Encounter Hook
The party discovers a crypt beneath the city's mages' quarter. In its deepest chamber, hunched over a half-completed phylactery, stands the once-celebrated scholar Vorrath Maldine — eyes hollow, robes rotting, hands already crackling with stolen life energy. He speaks first: "You're far too late to stop what I've become. Far too early to see what I will be."
