The Nothic is one of D&D's most unsettling aberrations: a pitiful, ravenous creature reduced to a hunched, clawing thing by the curse of forbidden arcane knowledge. This is pose 2 of our Nothic range by Galaad Miniatures, and it captures something the first pose doesn't — the raw, predatory lunge of a creature that has stopped pretending it is anything other than a monster. The oversized central eye bulges above a gaping jaw full of jagged teeth, the spine erupts in bony spines and horns, and the lean, corded limbs end in vicious claws. One arm reaches forward with a horrible, grasping intent; the other braces behind it, coiled for the strike. The sculpt rewards painters who want to lean into decayed flesh tones, pallid bone, and the sickly glow of that single, terrible eye.
Whether you're running a dungeon beneath Waterdeep or a forgotten wizard's tower crumbling at the edge of the world, a Nothic planted on the table will immediately unsettle your players in exactly the right way. It works equally well as a roaming aberrant threat, a cursed guardian, or a tragic lore-delivery monster with secrets the party genuinely needs. Collectors will find the sculpt holds detail well across the textured hide, spinal ridges, and deeply articulated face.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a tactile, characterful Nothic for D&D 5e or other TTRPG systems
- Want a second Nothic pose to vary encounters or represent different individuals
- Are running Underdark campaigns, ruined dungeon crawls, or aberration-themed arcs
- Love a challenging and rewarding painting project with strong textural detail
- Collect fantasy monster miniatures for display as well as play
Encounter Hook:
The party hears it before they see it — a wet, rasping voice from behind a collapsed pillar reciting the names of their dead. It knows things it shouldn't. It has been watching them since the second level.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The miniature and its sculpted scenic base are separate pieces, attached easily with superglue — the base is designed to complement the model's pose, so we recommend using it. Supplied unprimed and unpainted, ready for your brush or your display shelf as-is. Support marks are removed before dispatch; minor surface imperfections inherent to the printing process may occasionally remain and are straightforward to clean up.
