This is pose 03 of the Northern Goblin range by Monster Atlas, and it's one of the more aggressive of the set. Broad-shouldered and low to the ground, this goblin is caught mid-lurch — one hand gripping a bone-wrapped axe raised for a strike, the other steadying a short blade at the hip. The sculpt captures the feral energy of a creature that fights dirty and runs fast: protruding brow, splayed clawed feet, shredded hide armour, and that wide, tooth-baring grimace of something that genuinely enjoys a scrap. He'd be equally at home in a frozen cave complex, a mountain ambush, or a warband warring over stolen supplies.
As part of the numbered Northern Goblin series, pose 03 works brilliantly alongside 01 and 02 to build out a warband with variety — different stances, different weapons, all sharing the same savage northern aesthetic. Encounter Hook:
The party has tracked the stolen offerings to a frost-cracked ravine — but the goblins were expecting them. Pose 03 drops from a ledge directly onto the lead character, axe already mid-swing, as his kin emerge howling from the ice-slicked walls on either side.
Scaled to 32mm. Supplied with a separate decorative base that can be attached with superglue — the sculpt is designed to interact with the base, so it's well worth using. The miniature arrives with supports removed and fully cured, ready for priming and painting straight away. Minor imperfections from the printing process are possible and can be easily cleaned up before you put brush to model.
