The völva — the Norse seeress, walker between worlds, speaker of fate — is one of the most feared figures in any Viking age setting. Epic Miniatures have captured her at the precise moment she has returned from somewhere she should not have gone. Gaunt and elongated, her four arms spread wide like a crow's wings, her taloned feet gripping the ground with reptilian certainty, she wears the remnants of ceremonial dress: a belted tabard adorned with rings, bracers at her wrists, and a headband still pressed to her brow. Her jaw hangs open in a silent shriek or prophecy — it is hard to say which.

Every detail tells the story of a woman transformed. The scaled, clawed legs speak of a pact gone wrong — or one fulfilled at terrible cost. The additional arms, each ending in grasping, skeletal fingers, suggest she has brought something back from the other side with her.
