Nest w/Eggs by Mia Kay M3DM
Description
Hidden amongst the roots of an ancient oak, three eggs lie nestled in a woven cradle of twigs and dried grass — waiting for whatever laid them to return.
- ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
- ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
- ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama
This scatter terrain piece depicts a naturalistic bird's nest holding three eggs, each with subtly different surface textures — one speckled, one smooth, one lightly cracked along its surface. The woven twig work of the nest itself is richly detailed, with individual strands layered convincingly over one another to give real depth and organic character. It's the kind of piece that makes a wilderness hex map feel genuinely inhabited, or lends a forest encounter that extra layer of environmental storytelling.
Whether you're staging a druid's grove, the lair of a harpy, a yuan-ti hatchery, or simply adding life to a woodland clearing, this nest brings a grounded, tactile quality to your table. It also works beautifully as part of a painted diorama or display scene for collectors who appreciate finely detailed scatter pieces.
Well suited to adventurers who:
- Build immersive wilderness, forest, or dungeon encounter maps
- Want scatter terrain that rewards close-up painting and display
- Are running encounters involving creatures that nest — harpies, basilisks, wyverns, or giant birds
- Enjoy diorama building or narrative environmental scenes
Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking a juvenile wyvern through the Thornwood for two days when the ranger spots it — a nest the size of a cartwheel, tucked into a rocky outcrop, with three pale eggs still warm to the touch. The mother is not far. Whether to destroy the eggs, take one, or simply retreat quietly is suddenly the most fraught debate at the table.
Scaled to 32mm. Supplied ready for priming and painting straight out of the box, or use as-is for an unpainted naturalistic look. Supports are removed prior to dispatch, though minor marks from the printing process can occur — these are easily tidied up with light sanding. As with all our pieces, it leaves our studio fully cured and ready to use.
