This is the third sculpt in our Needle Blight range from Novaminis, and it brings a brooding, upright menace to your tabletop. Where some blights crouch and scuttle, this one stands tall — a humanoid mass of overlapping bark-like scales, curling tendrils, and vicious outward-pointing spines that cover every inch of its form from clawed feet to snarling, fang-filled maw. The head is crowned with a radiating burst of needle-sharp spikes, and the face — grotesque and animalistic — gives this creature a horrifying sense of awareness that the other poses lack. It is not just plant matter given motion; it feels deliberate, watchful, and deeply wrong.

As a D&D 5e Plant creature, Needle Blights work superbly as front-line threats in a Gulthias tree's corrupted grove, as Feywild-adjacent horrors lurking at the boundary between the mortal world and something older, or as the unsettling foot soldiers of a druid who has let nature's darker impulses take hold. This sculpt's upright, confrontational stance makes it a natural leader-figure amongst a pack — or simply the one the party notices last.

Encounter Hook:
The ranger spots it first — a figure in the treeline, perfectly still, head tilted at an angle no human neck could manage. By the time she raises her hand to signal the party, three more have stepped out of the shadows on either side of the road, spines fanning outward like a threat display. The grove is close. Something in there is calling to them.

Details

Supplied at 32mm scale and ready for priming and painting straight out of the box. Available with or without a plain black base — the base comes unattached and can be fixed in place with a small amount of glue. Each piece is quality checked before dispatch; as with all hand-finished miniatures, minor marks from the printing process may occasionally be present and are straightforward to clean up.
