The Necrotic Ghost is one of those miniatures that stops you mid-session. She drifts forward in a billow of ragged robes, long hair flowing as though caught in a wind that no one else can feel — but it's the details that make her genuinely unsettling. Rope coils around her torso and trails from her hands, as though she was bound in death and hasn't finished unravelling since. Her face is a ruin of corrupted flesh and exposed teeth, her expression caught somewhere between grief and hunger. This isn't a generic spectre — she has a story, and your players are going to want to know what it is.
Whether you're running a Ravenloft horror arc, a cursed manor encounter, or a necromancer's tower full of conscripted dead, she fits naturally as a boss, a haunting presence, or the tragic centrepiece of a lore-heavy quest. Equally at home on a display shelf as on the tabletop — the sculpt rewards a careful paint job, with the flowing fabric, rope texture, and corrupted face offering brilliant contrast for washes, highlights, and OSL effects.
Sculpted at 32mm scale by Mia Kay of M3DM, this miniature suits adventurers who:
- Run horror-themed or undead-heavy campaigns — Ravenloft, Curse of Strahd, or homebrew
- Want a ghost or spectre miniature with genuine character and narrative weight
- Paint display pieces and appreciate deep, layered detail to work with
- Need a visually distinct undead NPC or recurring villain for their table
Encounter Hook:
The party finds a sealed crypt beneath a flooded village. Inside, coiled rope trails across the flagstones toward a stone altar — and when the lantern catches the far wall, she is already there, turning slowly, the rope tightening around her as she mouths a name that belongs to one of the adventurers.
