The Mysterious Device 01 is a deeply unsettling scatter terrain piece that defies easy categorisation — and that ambiguity is entirely the point. Rendered in a digital render at high detail, this organic cage-like structure features thick, ribbed vertical columns rising from a circular base and converging at a dome of outward-pointing spines at the crown. Clusters of serrated, leaf-like protrusions erupt from the lower sections, curling outward like something half-plant, half-constructed. The surface texture throughout is rough and biological — somewhere between barnacled bone and calcified wood — with darker mottling along the inner columns suggesting age, corruption, or worse.

Is it a containment vessel? A summoning focus? An alien growth from the Far Realm? The design refuses to answer, leaving that question entirely in your hands — and your players'. Whether you paint it in sickly greens and purples to suggest an aberrant origin, deep reds and golds for an infernal aesthetic, or natural earth tones to make it look like something that simply grew in a cursed forest clearing, the sculpt supports any direction.
