This is pose 01 of our Myconid Soothsayer range — a striking fungal seer sculpted by Novaminis with a commanding presence that rewards both the painter's brush and the Dungeon Master's encounter table. The figure stands upright with one clawed hand raised, fingers splayed mid-incantation, while the other arm hangs low and sharp-taloned at its side. Its body is textured with overlapping fungal scales and knobbly protrusions, and the wide, conical mushroom cap crowning its head is rendered with fine gill detail on the underside. Every surface has something to reward careful painting — deep recesses for washes, raised scales that catch a drybrush, and that extraordinary cap just waiting for a muted earth tone or a striking bioluminescent scheme.

Myconids in D&D 5e are among the Underdark's most unsettling denizens — not hostile by nature, but deeply alien. A Soothsayer role suggests a creature that communes with the colony's spore-memory, reading omens in the drift of spores and acting as interlocutor between fungal society and the surface world. Whether you're running Underdark hex-crawls, an Out of the Abyss campaign, or simply want a genuinely unusual encounter your players won't forget, this sculpt delivers character and menace in equal measure.

Perfect for adventurers who:
  • Need a distinctive Underdark NPC or encounter creature for their D&D 5e campaign
  • Are running a myconid colony arc or an Out of the Abyss-style adventure
  • Want a display piece that showcases organic, creature-painting techniques
  • Collect fungal, plant, or weird monster miniatures

Encounter Hook:
The party follows a trail of luminous spores into a vast cave cathedral where a lone Myconid Soothsayer stands motionless at its centre. It does not speak aloud — instead, each character suddenly finds a fragment of someone else's dying memory blooming behind their eyes. The creature wants nothing. It simply wishes to show them what is coming. The question is whether they trust a vision delivered in someone else's terror.

Details

Supplied at 32mm scale. Available with or without a plain black base — the base is supplied unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. The sculpt is cleaned of supports and fully cured, ready for priming and painting straight out of the box. As with all hand-finished prints, minor surface variations can occasionally occur; these are easily addressed with fine-grit sanding or a spot of filler primer before painting.
