This is the Myconid Skeleton — pose 3 of La Louve 3D's extraordinary fungal undead range. Where most skeletons are simply raised by a necromancer's will, this one has been claimed by something older and stranger: the creeping intelligence of the myconid network. Twisted root-like vines coil around its limbs like sinew, wild mushroom caps sprout from its shoulders and joints, and it wields a brutal spiked club aloft in a pose that radiates grim, lurching menace. There is a horrible vitality to it — as though the fungus has animated what death left behind and given it a purpose all its own.
The sculpt captures a brilliant tension between skeletal fragility and fungal overgrowth. The ribcage is exposed and detailed, the limbs braided with mycelium cords, and the base hosts further mushroom growth that grounds the creature in its Underdark environment. Whether you field it as an undead guardian in a corrupted forest shrine, a myconid colony's shambling sentinel, or an encounter piece for a druid-gone-wrong subplot, this miniature carries genuine narrative weight on the tabletop — and considerable presence on a display shelf.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run encounters in Underdark caverns, corrupted woodlands, or myconid-held territories
- Need a visually distinctive undead enemy that surprises players expecting standard skeletons
- Are building a fungal-themed undead warband or necromancer's collection
- Enjoy painting miniatures with complex organic textures — the bone, vine, and mushroom surfaces reward layered techniques
- Collect display miniatures with strong character and lore identity
Encounter Hook:
The party tracks the missing herbalist into the root-choked tunnels beneath the old shrine — only to find her research notes scattered among the spores, and something that was once human lurching out of the dark towards them, club raised, mycelium still threading fresh growth through its eye sockets.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The miniature and decorative base are separate pieces, designed to be attached with a small amount of glue — some sculpts interact with the base in ways that make the pairing well worth it. Supplied unpainted and ready for priming. Minor marks from support removal are possible but easily tidied up before painting.
