The Myconid is one of the Underdark's most unsettling inhabitants — not because it is violent, but because it doesn't need to be. This sculpt by Monster Atlas captures that quiet menace brilliantly: a tall, sinuous fungal humanoid with a broad flat cap overhead, deeply veined bark-like skin, and clusters of amber shelf fungi erupting from its shoulders, forearms, and legs. The clawed, multi-fingered hands are spread wide — part welcome, part warning — and trailing mycelium tendrils wind down to the base where smaller fungi carpet its feet. Every surface rewards close inspection, from the deep striations across its torso to the gilled underside of its cap.
Whether you're running a myconid colony deep in the Underdark, a corrupted forest encounter, or a spore-haunted cavern where the party aren't sure if they're being welcomed or consumed, this miniature brings the atmosphere you need. Encounter Hook:
The party follows a trail of bioluminescent spores into a vast cavern to find a circle of motionless Myconids surrounding the still body of a missing NPC — eyes open, breathing, but utterly silent. One of the fungal figures slowly turns its cap toward the party. The spores in the air smell faintly of the last thing each character is afraid of.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and decorative base are separate pieces — some sculpts interact directly with the base, so attaching with super glue is recommended for the best result. Each piece is quality checked before dispatch, though minor support marks can occasionally occur and are easily tidied up before priming. Ready to prime and paint straight out of the box.
