Description

Deep beneath the stone, where spore-light flickers and the air tastes of rot and old memory, the brutes of the myconid colony do not speak — they simply advance.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This is pose 2 of our Myconid Brute range, sculpted by Novaminis. Where other myconids commune through rapture spores and ancient fungal ritual, the brutes are built for something far more direct. This sculpt captures that raw, unsettling physicality: a broad mushroom cap spreading wide overhead, long gilled tendrils hanging from the cap's underside and trailing across a body knotted with chitin-like growths, spines, and overlapping fungal plates. One arm raises as if mid-stride, clawed fingers spread wide — whether in threat display or the beginning of a strike, the pose leaves your players to decide. Every surface tells the story of something grown rather than born, shaped by the deep earth rather than any natural evolution.

The sculpt rewards careful painting — the layered textures across the torso, the gill details on the cap, and the rough scale-like plating on the legs all hold wash and drybrushing beautifully. Equally at home anchoring a curated Underdark display shelf as it is terrorising a party of adventurers who thought they'd found a safe passage.

Well suited to adventurers who:

  • Run Underdark-heavy campaigns featuring Out of the Abyss or custom fungal civilisations
  • Want a physically imposing counterpart to a myconid sovereign or circle
  • Are building a painted Underdark diorama or display collection
  • Need a brute-class enemy that reads immediately as alien and threatening on the board

Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking a missing dwarven scout into the deep tunnels when they find him — standing motionless in the centre of a spore-filled cavern, eyes glazed, a faint bloom of fungal growth creeping across his neck. Between them and the scout, a Myconid Brute turns slowly, cap-tendrils swaying, and takes one deliberate step forward. No sound. No warning. Just movement.
