It walks with the unhurried certainty of something that has already died once — and found the experience rather agreeable.

This is the Myconid Minion 1, a deeply unsettling fungal horror sculpted with extraordinary attention to biological detail. The figure stands upright in a slow, reaching pose — arms extended, fingers splayed, with a gaunt, hollow-eyed face half-consumed by mushroom growth. Bracket fungi and toadstools erupt from its shoulders, chest, arms, and legs, while deep fibrous veining covers its entire emaciated frame. The base is scattered with broken stone and organic debris, grounding the creature in the damp, lightless depths of the Underdark. Both the front and back of the sculpt reward close inspection — the dorsal mycelium spreading down the spine is a particularly gruesome touch that painters will relish.
Whether you're running a myconid colony encounter, introducing a fungal plague arc, or simply adding something genuinely eerie to your display shelf, this minion brings a distinctive atmosphere that few creatures in the Monster Manual can match. It reads equally well as a shambling zombie variant, a spore-cursed thrall, or a true myconid foot soldier — flexible enough to fit multiple campaign contexts without losing its identity.
Well suited for adventurers who:
- Are running Underdark campaigns or fungal horror storylines
- Need an atmospheric enemy mini that doubles as a display piece
- Enjoy painting organic textures — the mycelium and mushroom caps reward layered techniques
- Want a creature that unsettles players before a single die is rolled
Encounter Hook:
The party discovers the remains of a scouting party in a collapsed tunnel — each body standing upright, perfectly still, clustered together in a rough circle. Then one of them turns its head. The spores in the air are already thick, and the Constitution saving throws are already overdue.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and its scenic base are separate pieces, designed to be attached with a small amount of super glue — note that the sculpt does interact with the base, so the decorative base is strongly recommended. Minor surface imperfections from the print process are possible; any residual marks are straightforward to clean up before priming. Supplied unpainted and ready for your brush.
