Fairy rings have marked the boundary between the mortal world and the Feywild in folklore for centuries — and at the tabletop, they carry that same unsettling weight. This Mushroom Circle terrain piece features a densely packed ring of varied mushrooms mounted on a textured earthen base, with taller capped fungi standing sentinel around the outer edge and a cluster of shorter, darker specimens huddled within. The sculpt captures two distinct mushroom types in a single composition, giving Dungeon Masters a terrain piece that feels genuinely foraged from the forest floor rather than placed for convenience.
Whether it marks the entrance to a hag's domain, a druid's sacred grove, or simply a patch of Underdark floor that something has claimed as its own, this scatter piece rewards the adventurers who notice it — and punishes those who don't. Encounter Hook:
The party's ranger spots it first — a circle of mushrooms, perhaps thirty feet across, sitting in an otherwise unremarkable forest clearing. The soil inside is a different colour. The insects avoid it. And when your druid casts Detect Magic, the whole ring lights up like a beacon. Something has been using this circle very recently, and the tracks leading out of it — whatever made them — head directly towards the village the party was hired to protect.
Scaled to 32mm. Available with or without a plain black base — the base is supplied unattached and can be affixed with a small amount of glue. Supplied unpainted and ready for priming; paint it as natural earthy browns, vivid Feywild purples, or the bioluminescent blues of the Underdark — the sculpt holds detail well across all approaches. Please note that as with all hand-finished pieces, minor marks may occasionally be present and can be tidied up before priming.
