Mushroom Boar by Epic Miniatures
Description
Where the deep forest meets something older and stranger, the mushroom boar emerges — a beast so overgrown with fungal life that it is difficult to say where the creature ends and the mycelium begins.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
This is no ordinary woodland boar. The Mushroom Boar is a creature utterly claimed by fungal growth — its broad, tusked body draped in overlapping leaves, trailing vines, and a dense canopy of mushrooms that rise from its back like a living forest in miniature. A tall, flat-capped mushroom crowns the whole arrangement, giving the beast the unmistakable silhouette of something that has walked straight out of a Feywild fever dream or a Underdark fungal colony.
The sculpt is rich with surface detail — textured leaves layered across the haunches, curling tendrils wrapping the legs, clusters of smaller mushrooms dotting the saddle-like growth along the spine, and a face that still carries the feral ferocity of a dire boar beneath all that overgrowth. It reads equally well as a wild monstrosity, a mount for a myconid sovereign, or a plant-corrupted beast loosed on an unsuspecting village. The medium 25.5mm base keeps it well-proportioned on a standard D&D grid.
From the rear, the fungal rider structure becomes even clearer — a woody, branching trunk rises from the boar's back, supporting the mushroom cap above and hinting at a symbiotic or parasitic relationship between beast and growth. Whether you play this as a creature, a mount, or a corrupted forest guardian, there is a wealth of narrative packed into every angle of this sculpt.
A great choice for adventurers who:
- Run Feywild, Underdark, or wilderness-themed campaigns with plant or fungal encounters
- Need a memorable mount for a myconid, druid, or fey creature
- Want a centrepiece beast that doubles as a display piece on the shelf
- Are building out a forest corruption or spore-plague storyline
- Love intricate organic sculpts with strong character and painterly potential
Encounter Hook
The party has been tracking strange spore trails through the Thornwood for two days when the undergrowth erupts ahead of them — not with roots or branches, but with the thundering hooves of a boar three times the size it should be, its back crowned with a full mushroom canopy and its eyes glazed white with fungal bloom. Whatever rider or intelligence guides it remains hidden within the mycelium. Initiative, please.
