Description
Deep beneath the forest floor, where no sunlight reaches and the air tastes of rot and spores, something with too many eyes and too much patience has been waiting for your party to get lost.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
This is the third sculpt in Great Grimoire's Mushroom range — and it might be the grumpiest. Two distinct variants are shown in the render: one squat and hunched, its wide cap drooping low over a scowling face with stubby arms clutching a gnarled walking staff; the other broader and flatter-capped, its long trunk-like snout hanging forward and smaller mushrooms sprouting from its cap like a crown of spores. Both carry that distinctive mix of the grotesque and the oddly charming that makes fungal creatures so compelling at the table. Whether you're running them as territorial myconids, Underdark wanderers, or fey-touched forest spirits, these sculpts carry real character in every gill and wart.
Myconids occupy a wonderful grey area in D&D — neither straightforwardly hostile nor reliably friendly, they operate on alien logic and ancient memory. These particular sculpts lean into the crankier end of that spectrum. They've clearly seen adventurers before. They were not impressed then, and they are not impressed now.
A good fit for adventurers who:
- Need myconid encounters with real visual personality, not just generic fungus tokens
- Are building Underdark or Feywild encounters and want creatures that feel genuinely strange
- Enjoy painting characterful monsters with deep textures — the cap ridges, warts, and staff details reward careful brushwork
- Collect Great Grimoire sculpts and want the full Mushroom range on their shelf
Encounter Hook:
The party follows a trail of bioluminescent spores deeper into the cave system, only to find a circle of these hunched fungal figures standing motionless around a collapsed adventurer — her eyes open, her expression serene, her memories slowly becoming theirs.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The plain black base is included separately and attaches easily with a small amount of glue. As with all hand-finished resin pieces, minor print marks or support remnants are possible — these are straightforward to clean up with a hobby knife and light sanding. Each piece is fully cured and ready to prime and paint, or use straight from the box if you prefer the raw grey look.
