This is pose 01 of our Mushroom Folk range by Great Grimoire, and it cuts a genuinely distinctive figure on the tabletop. The sculpt depicts a stocky, broad-bodied fungal creature whose bulbous, toad-like face is framed by a wide, layered mushroom cap — complete with a tiny snail perched on top, a touch that rewards close inspection. Its expression is somewhere between brooding and deeply unimpressed, which feels entirely appropriate for something that has lived in the dark for centuries. One claw-fingered hand grips a thick, twisted wooden staff, its surface wrapped in trailing vines and organic detail. Mossy growths cling to its heavy legs, and the whole silhouette reads as something between Myconid sovereign and ancient forest spirit.
Whether you're running an Underdark colony encounter, a druidic fungal cult in the Feywild, or a forgotten grove deep beneath a ruined city, this miniature carries real narrative weight. It works just as well on a display shelf as it does on the battle map — the level of sculpted detail across the cap, body, staff, and feet makes it a rewarding painting project too.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run Underdark or Feywild campaigns and want distinctive fungal creatures
- Need a Myconid sovereign, elder, or boss-level plant creature for D&D 5e
- Collect fantasy miniatures from independent sculptors
- Enjoy detailed painting projects with rich organic texture
Encounter Hook:
The party follows the smell of damp earth into a vast underground chamber, where a lone mushroom-capped elder stands motionless in the centre. It does not attack. It raises its staff slowly, and spores drift upward — and suddenly every adventurer can taste someone else's last dying thought.
