This is the second sculpt in our Mounted Death Knight range from Primal Collectibles, and it makes a commanding centrepiece for any undead encounter. The skeletal rider is mounted on a barded warhorse adorned with heavy chains and a skull-embossed chest plate — every inch of tack and armour speaks to a warrior cursed beyond death. The knight raises a long sword aloft in one gauntleted hand whilst bearing an ornately etched round shield on the other arm, its surface covered in swirling knotwork. A feathered helm crowns the grinning skull, and a dark cloak billows behind the figure. Broken swords litter the sculpted rubble base, marking the battlefield carnage left in this revenant's wake.

In D&D 5e, death knights are fallen paladins bound to undying service — terrible, intelligent, and driven by an oath they failed to keep. This mounted variant captures that relentless momentum perfectly: a once-noble warrior reduced to hollow vengeance, charging across cursed ground. Whether you're running a Ravenloft campaign, building a necromantic army for your BBEG, or simply collecting display-quality undead miniatures, this sculpt brings genuine gravitas to the tabletop.

A great fit for adventurers who:

  • Need a boss-level undead cavalry mini for D&D or other TTRPG encounters
  • Are building a necromantic army or Ravenloft-themed warband
  • Want a standout display piece for painting or shelving alongside other undead sculpts
  • Are running mounted combat encounters and need a visually imposing antagonist

Encounter Hook:
The party has cornered the lich's general in the ruins of the Thornwall Fortress — but as they breach the gates, the creak of chains and the clatter of hooves echoes across the courtyard. The death knight emerges from the smoke at a full gallop, sword levelled, and the paladin who once wielded it stares back at them through hollow sockets.

Details

This miniature is printed at 32mm scale. The model and base come as separate pieces and can be attached with a small amount of glue — the decorative base is sculpted to interact with the model and is recommended for the best display result. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor marks or imperfections may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up before priming.
