Description

He rides ahead of the column, lance angled skyward, his battered armour and knowing smirk telling you everything about a man who has survived a dozen campaigns and intends to survive a dozen more.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This mounted conquistador is one of those figures that does real narrative work at the table. Clad in half-plate with a wide-brimmed morion-style hat, he carries himself with the casual authority of a veteran soldier — someone who's seen enough to be dangerous and lived long enough to be cunning. The sculpt captures that tension beautifully: the lance held upright in a loose, practised grip, saddlebags packed for a long march, and a face that reads as equal parts charisma and threat. His horse, draped with travel gear and strapped saddlepacks, is rendered with equal care — wraps on the legs, a bridle with real weight to it, and a stance that suggests a mount well used to war.

This is pose 01 of the Mounted Conquistador range from Galaad Miniatures. The sculpt lends itself equally to a seasoned cavalry fighter, a roving mercenary captain, a colonial-era NPC commander, or a player character riding into a new frontier. As a display piece, the level of detail across both rider and mount rewards careful brushwork — from the riveted pauldrons to the rolled blanket tied behind the saddle.

Well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Need a memorable mounted NPC — a faction commander, a rival, or a quest-giver who arrives on horseback
  • Are running campaigns with a conquistador, colonial, or frontier flavour
  • Play a mounted Fighter or Cavalier and want a characterful player character miniature
  • Collect display pieces with strong historical and fantasy crossover appeal

Encounter Hook:
The party crests the ridge to find a lone horseman waiting for them — lance upright, expression unreadable. He introduces himself as Capitán Aldric Vara, representative of a noble house they've never heard of, with a commission he claims only they can fulfil. Whether he's a genuine patron, a rival's agent, or something worse entirely is a question the dice will answer.

Details

Supplied at 32mm scale. The rider and horse are separate pieces and attach cleanly with super glue — the base is included and the sculpt is designed to sit naturally with it. Printed at high resolution with supports removed; as with all detailed resin prints, minor marks may occasionally be present and are easily cleaned up before priming.

The cats have used their bonus action to look judgmental. As always, it was very effective.

Works beautifully alongside player character minis for complete city encounters — or explore more from Galaad.
