Mountain trolls are not subtle creatures. They don't lurk in shadow or weave schemes — they erupt. This sculpt from Epic Miniatures captures exactly that explosive moment of violence: the troll mid-lunge, one arm raking outward with gnarled, stone-crusted claws, the other sweeping wide in a wild haymaker, its whole body coiled with the terrible energy of something that hasn't learned — and doesn't need — restraint.

The detail here rewards the painter. Thick ropey muscle sits beneath warty, tumour-pocked skin. A shaggy growth of rough hide clings around its waist, contrasting with the raw, almost geological texture of its forearms, which look less like flesh and more like cracked mountainside.
