This is Mothman 02 from Yasashii Kyojin Studios, and it is a creature that demands a story the moment it hits the table. Standing in a heavy, predatory crouch, this sculpt captures the deeply unsettling nature of the Mothman legend rendered in high fantasy horror. The torso is unmistakably humanoid — broad, muscular, grotesquely veined — yet everything else screams insect: enormous faceted compound eyes dominate the head, multiple grasping limbs extend from the upper body, and two vast, ribbed beetle-shell wings fan out behind it like a pair of tomb doors swung wide. Articulated, taloned feet grip the ground with the confidence of something that has never once needed to run from anything.

The side profile reveals the full scale and texture of those wings — deeply ridged and veined with an organic, chitinous structure that rewards careful drybrushing and wash work. Whether you field this as a monstrous aberration stalking a corrupted woodland road, a herald of some eldritch being, or the apex predator of a forgotten cavern system, Mothman 02 carries genuine menace. This is equally at home as a centrepiece display piece on a collector's shelf as it is looming over a battle map at 3am when the players thought they were safe.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a large, distinctive aberration or monstrosity for a horror-tinged encounter
  • Are building a cryptid-themed campaign or a Ravenloft-adjacent arc
  • Want a centrepiece creature that will genuinely unsettle their players
  • Paint and collect fantasy horror miniatures
  • Are looking for a boss-level threat with real visual presence on the table

Encounter Hook:
The missing shepherd turned up three miles from the village — alive, unharmed, and utterly unable to explain the twelve hours he cannot account for. The only clue is the single enormous talon mark pressed four inches deep into the mud outside his barn door, and the faint sound, just at the edge of hearing, of something enormous folding its wings in the dark above the tree canopy.

Scaled to 32mm. Available with or without a plain black base — the base is supplied unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. Every mini is printed to order and thoroughly quality checked before dispatch.
