This is pose 4 of our Modron Monodrone range by Novaminis, and it captures the Monodrone in a wide, lurching stride — its single cyclopean eye staring forward with that characteristically blank intensity. The spherical body is studded with bolts and mechanical detailing, while a pair of splayed, spoke-like wings fan out from each side. Four spindly jointed limbs give it a scuttling, almost unsettling quality, and the grimacing mouth gives this particular sculpt a surly, put-upon expression that's hard not to find oddly endearing. Whether you're running a Planescape campaign, visiting Mechanus as part of a wider cosmological arc, or simply want one of the most distinctive constructs in D&D lore on your shelf, this sculpt delivers real character.
Monodrones are the lowest caste of the Modron hierarchy — simple, obedient, and utterly literal in their thinking. They make superb encounter fodder for law-themed adventures, curious NPCs in clockwork cities, or background dressing for artificer guilds and Inevitables lairs. Equally, they're a joy to paint, with strong geometric forms that reward both drybrushing and precise metallic work.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run Planescape, Spelljammer, or Mechanus-adjacent D&D 5e campaigns
- Want a characterful construct monster with genuine lore depth
- Enjoy painting mechanical and geometric miniatures
- Collect display pieces from the stranger corners of D&D's cosmology
Encounter Hook:
The party enters the collapsed Modron march camp — scattered gears, dormant drones half-buried in the mud. Then one eye flickers open. Then another. The march never truly ended; it was simply waiting for a new primary directive, and the nearest warm body just volunteered.
Scaled to 32mm. Available with or without a plain black base — the base comes unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. If you require a different scale, please get in touch before ordering. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor surface marks are occasionally possible and can be tidied up easily before priming.
