Mongrelfolk, known to those unfortunate enough to encounter them as the Belviews, are among the most unsettling inhabitants of Ravenloft's gothic landscape. These cursed souls bear the mismatched features of multiple creatures — scaled legs ending in avian talons, a crest of feathers rising from an otherwise human face, and the hunched, wary posture of something that has learned to fear the world above. This sculpt by Yasashii Kyojin Studio captures that duality brilliantly: this listing is pose variant 04 of the Mongrelfolk Belview range, featuring two distinct sculpts. One stands with arms drawn inward, head bowed, radiating a tense wariness — servile yet unpredictable. The other crouches into a lunging stance, clawed hands splayed and ready, the hollow eyes wild with something between desperation and threat.
Both sculpts are rendered as grey digital renders, unpainted and unprimed, showing every textural detail — scaly legs, taloned feet, tattered wrappings at the waist, and that distinctive avian crest atop an otherwise disturbingly human skull. The surface detail is crisp throughout, from the muscle definition of the torso to the articulated scales climbing the lower legs. Equally at home as a haunting display piece or as an encounter-ready table token, these two make a genuinely evocative pair.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Run Curse of Strahd or other Ravenloft-based campaigns
- Need humanoid monsters with genuine visual menace for dungeon encounters
- Want distinctive NPC sculpts that tell a story before anyone speaks
- Collect miniatures that reward careful painting — the texture depth here is exceptional
- Are building a Barovia diorama or display collection
Encounter Hook:
The party descends into the sub-basement of Castle Ravenloft and finds a figure crouched in the far corner, clutching something small and unidentifiable. It turns — scaled legs, talon feet, hollow eyes above a face that is almost human — and holds out its curled hands not in attack, but in offering. What it's offering, and why, is entirely up to your Dungeon Master.
Both poses are scaled to 32mm and are supplied unpainted and unprimed, ready for your brush. You can choose to add a plain black base at checkout — the base arrives unattached and can be fixed in place with a drop of hobby glue. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with any hand-finished print, minor imperfections may occasionally occur and can be tidied with standard hobby tools.
