This listing presents two sculpts from Yasashii Kyojin Studio's Mongrelfolk (Belviews) 03 range. The first figure is seated atop a stone pillar, bat-like wings spread wide, heavy chains coiled at the base — a creature held in uneasy captivity, fingers raised in a gesture that reads as equal parts threat and plea. The second pose captures the same creature mid-crouch, one knee to the ground, wings angled for sudden movement, clawed feet braced as though ready to spring. Hair falls across both faces in long, dishevelled curtains, obscuring features that are disturbingly close to human.
In D&D 5e lore, mongrelfolk are the tragic products of magical experimentation — bodies fused from multiple humanoid and bestial sources. The Belviews of Ravenloft are among the most recognisable variants, and these sculpts capture their unsettling blend of vulnerability and menace with remarkable clarity. Whether you're running Curse of Strahd or building your own gothic horror setting, these figures carry genuine weight on the table.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Run Curse of Strahd or Ravenloft-adjacent campaigns
- Need NPCs that blur the line between monster and victim
- Want to populate a dungeon with creatures that unsettle rather than simply threaten
- Collect gothic horror and dark fantasy miniatures for display
Encounter Hook:
The party descends into the lower crypts and finds a mongrelfolk perched atop a carved pillar, chained at the ankle, whispering to something in the dark below. It turns when it hears them — not with aggression, but with a hollow, desperate recognition. It knows something about what lies ahead. Whether it will share that knowledge depends entirely on what the party does next.
