This is pose set 02 of our Mongrelfolk (Belviews) range by Yasashii Kyojin Studio. The sculpt features two distinct variants of the same character: a hunched, powerfully built mongrelfolk with a lion-like bearded muzzle, webbed taloned feet, and a rough travelling cloak. The first variant raises a hooded lantern aloft in one clawed fist, a ring of keys dangling from his belt — a servant, a warden, or perhaps a reluctant guide through the dark. The second variant crouches in a combat-ready posture, fists clenched and expression twisted in a snarl, every muscle coiled for the lunge. The back view reveals the full scope of the cloak's torn fabric, a pouch at the hip, and the unsettling bulk of this creature's hybrid frame.
These miniatures capture the tragedy and menace of mongrelfolk perfectly — tormented souls who are neither fully beast nor fully human, making them compelling antagonists, pitiable NPCs, or even the subject of a redemption arc in a Ravenloft or horror-adjacent campaign. Both poses are distinct enough to serve different narrative roles at the same table.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Run Curse of Strahd or other Ravenloft campaigns and want characterful, lore-accurate Belview miniatures
- Need a haunting dungeon warden or castle servant NPC with genuine menace on the tabletop
- Want to explore mongrelfolk lore — cursed, tragic, and ripe for morally complex encounters
- Collect display-quality sculpts with strong narrative character and unusual creature design
Encounter Hook:
The party follows a flickering lantern through the fog-choked corridors beneath Castle Ravenloft. When they finally catch up to its bearer — a hunched, lion-faced figure with a ring of heavy keys and webbed feet that make no sound on the stone — he stops, turns, and stares. He was not lost. He was leading them somewhere. The question is: to whom?
Both variants are supplied at 32mm scale. Available with or without a plain black display base — the base comes unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. These miniatures arrive clean of supports and ready for priming and painting, though they display well straight from the box.
