Description

In the deep lakes of the north, locals leave offerings at the water's edge — not out of reverence, but out of fear of what lurks beneath.

  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Mishipeshu — the Great Lynx or Underwater Panther of Algonquian legend — is one of the most evocative creatures to cross into the world of tabletop fantasy. Part feline predator, part scaled river serpent, it prowls the boundary between land and water with predatory patience. This sculpt captures it in a low, prowling stance: weight forward on its forelimbs, claws splayed against the ground, head drawn low and forward as though it has already picked its quarry. Rows of dorsal spines run the length of its back, interlocking horns crown its reptilian head, and overlapping scales cover every inch of its powerful frame. It is coiled potential — a creature that does not need to roar to command a room.

For Dungeon Masters, this miniature works brilliantly as a territorial beast encounter, a river guardian awakened by trespass, or a powerful spirit bound by an ancient pact. It sits equally well in a nature-themed wilderness campaign as it does in a dark folkloric horror setting. For collectors and painters, the texture detail — scales, spine ridges, horned crest — offers a wealth of opportunity across every surface.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a distinctive beast or monstrosity encounter for wilderness or waterway sessions
  • Are running folklore-inspired, dark nature, or spirit-world campaign arcs
  • Want a centre-piece boss creature that rewards careful painting
  • Collect display miniatures with strong sculptural character

Encounter Hook:
The fishing village has not lost anyone to the lake in three generations — but the party finds the most recent offering stone cracked clean in two, deep claw marks scored across the rock, and a trail of wet prints leading away from the shore into the treeline. Whatever bargain held the Mishipeshu at bay has just ended.
