  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Mimics are a staple of dungeon horror precisely because they weaponise the familiar. This Mirror Mimic takes that concept and runs with it — sculpted as a tall, elegantly framed standing mirror complete with decorative finials, skull motifs along the columns, and ornate floral carvings at the crown. One side presents the mirror in its deceptive closed state, serene and aristocratic. The other reveals the creature mid-lunge: the frame warping, a grotesque maw splitting the surface wide open, a thick tongue spilling forward and eyes bulging with predatory hunger. The detail on both aspects is exceptional — this is a sculpt that rewards a careful paint job and a well-lit display shelf equally.

For Dungeon Masters, the Mirror Mimic earns its place far beyond the standard dungeon chest. Drop it into a noble's dressing room, a wizard's study, a vampire's antechamber, or a cursed manor. It carries genuine menace while retaining a darkly comic edge — the kind of encounter your players will still be talking about three campaigns later.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Run deception-heavy or horror-tinged D&D and TTRPG encounters
  • Want a mimic variant that surprises players who've seen every chest trick before
  • Are building Ravenloft, Gothic, or high-society dungeon dressing collections
  • Love characterful monsters that work just as well on a display shelf as on the table

Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to catalogue the estate of a recently deceased archmage. Room by room, the inventory proceeds without incident — until the youngest member of the group notices that the ornate mirror in the master bedroom has been reflecting them a half-second too slowly, and that the reflection is still smiling even though nobody is.
