This Minotaur Captain is mid-stride and fully committed — sword raised high overhead, cloak billowing behind with real movement and weight, body low in a fighting crouch that reads as both disciplined and savage. The sculpt carries genuine tension: this isn't a brute charging blindly, it's a commander who has done this before and knows exactly where the blade is going. The broad horns curve outward with authority, the face beneath them carries a snarling, ferocious expression, and the armoured bracers and studded belt mark him out as a warrior of rank rather than a mere foot soldier.
The reverse is equally considered — the cloak sweeps dramatically behind in a wide, tattered arc, the musculature of the back and legs is well-defined, and the hooved feet carry studded ankle guards that add just enough detail without cluttering the silhouette. Mounted on a large 51mm decorative base, this miniature has genuine presence on the table whether it's anchoring a dungeon encounter or commanding a display shelf.
As a D&D miniature, the Minotaur Captain works brilliantly as a named antagonist — a warlord guarding the deepest chamber of a dungeon, the enforcer of a minotaur clan, or the champion of an arena your party was never meant to survive. The large base and dynamic pose mean he commands the table the moment he hits the mat.
- Dungeon Masters running labyrinth, maze, or underdark encounters
- Collectors who want a centrepiece minotaur with genuine character
- Painters looking for a sculpt with dramatic movement and rich surface detail
- Players building a minotaur barbarian or fighter character with real gravitas
Encounter Hook: The party has been navigating the Undermaze for three days when they hear it — not the distant bellow of something lost, but the measured, deliberate clang of armoured hooves on stone, growing closer with each turn. The Minotaur Captain doesn't chase. He herds. And the exit is exactly where he wants them to be.
