The Minor Venerator is a compact but ferocious construct — a clockwork guardian built for one purpose and left to carry it out long after its creators have gone. This pose (number 03 of the Venerator range) catches the construct mid-swing, both articulated hands gripping a long-hafted flail tipped with two heavy spiked spheres packed with rivets and bolts. The round goggled head, ticking chest-clock, and segmented limbs give this build a charming retro-mechanical character that sits somewhere between a gnomish war-engine and a forgotten automaton from a collapsed empire. Up close, the sculpt rewards a painter's eye — every panel seam, gear vent, and rivet cluster is crisp and distinct, with plenty of recessed detail to hold a wash.
Whether you're running a steampunk campaign, an artificer's workshop gone wrong, or an ancient dungeon whose mechanical sentinels are still very much operational, the Minor Venerator 03 brings real presence to the table. It works equally well as a low-CR encounter piece, a recurring guardian NPC, or a centrepiece on a display shelf — the dynamic overhead-swing pose reads clearly from across the table.
Perfect for adventurers who:- Run steampunk, artificer, or magitech-themed campaigns
- Need construct encounters that feel mechanical rather than monstrous
- Want a miniature with genuine kinetic energy in its pose
- Collect and paint clockwork or automaton sculpts
Encounter Hook:
The party enters a derelict gnomish manufactory deep beneath the city — dust on every surface, rust on every door — only to hear the rhythmic ticking of a chest-clock somewhere in the dark. The Minor Venerator rounds the corner, flail already raised, responding to an intruder alarm that has been counting down for three hundred years.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale. The model and decorative base are supplied as separate pieces and attach easily with superglue — the base has been sculpted to complement this sculpt specifically, so we recommend displaying them together. Some minor cleanup of support marks may be needed; these are straightforward to remove and sand smooth.
