This is a sculpt that commands attention before the paint even touches it. The Mind Overlord cuts an imposing silhouette — a towering, robed psionic entity rising from a swirling, flame-like scenic base on a large 51mm round. Its long flowing robes cascade dramatically to the ground, etched with layered geometric and spine-like patterns that speak to something far older and stranger than mortal craft. Sinuous tentacles coil and reach outward from the figure's midsection, lending a sense of writhing, eldritch energy to the sculpt. The back of the robe is torn open with ragged, void-like holes, as though reality itself cannot fully contain this being.
Above, the figure wears an elaborate crown or helm of angular, blade-like protrusions — almost insectoid in character — framing a narrow, mask-like face. One hand clutches what appears to be a small skull or arcane focus, while the other extends with curving, elongated fingers. Every surface of this miniature rewards close inspection: the interlocking armour panels, the branching fin-like extensions at the shoulders, and the organic-mechanical tension running throughout the design make this a genuinely compelling painting project.
This sculpt ships in both supported and unsupported variants, giving you the flexibility to prepare it whichever way suits your printing setup. A decorative scenic base is included, as well as a plain base option if you prefer to mount it your own way.
Well-suited to adventurers who:
- Run campaigns with aberration threats, Far Realm incursions, or elder psionic villains
- Want a large-footprint BBEG or elite encounter piece that reads clearly across the table
- Enjoy detailed, high-concept sculpts that reward careful layered painting
- Collect display-quality miniatures alongside their gaming pieces
Encounter Hook: The party arrives at the sunken archive of a long-dead illithid colony, only to find the vault already open — and something very much still in residence. The Mind Overlord does not attack immediately. It simply turns, tentacles drifting, and asks which of them sent the dreams. None of them did. It believes otherwise.
