This is the fourth variation in Novaminis' Mind Flayer Arcanist series, and it may be the most theatrical of the set. The Arcanist is captured mid-incantation — one hand raised palm-outward above the head, the other pressing against its own cranium as though channelling arcane energy directly through its mind. The four facial tentacles hang loose and expressive, lending the pose a sense of barely-contained psionic power about to be unleashed.

The robes are richly detailed: swirling arcane patterns adorn the chest piece, a long draped skirt flows to the base with carved decorative motifs, and a broad belt with a skull-faced buckle and twin pouches grounds the figure with a suitably sinister flair. A sweep of cloak falls behind the figure, adding depth and drama to the silhouette. Bracers at both wrists and horn-like spurs at the shoulders round out a look that sits somewhere between Underdark scholar and eldritch nightmare.

As variation 04 in the series, this pose is the most overtly spell-casting of the range — arms fully engaged, posture open and commanding. If you're building out an illithid encounter group, this figure reads clearly as the arcanist directing proceedings from the centre of the tableau.
